The COVID-19 effect on many jobs has caused more people to work from home. For me, it has been great relief because I really appreciate working from home. This is because it gives me extra convenience, boosts my productive time and helps me meet targets sooner than expected.  Working from home takes so much discipline amidst the freedom and flexibility. As such, I have compiled a few tips here to help you work from home effectively.

I shared these tips on my twitter account sometime ago  and I decided to bring them here too.

If you work from home and use the internet for your business in this season, these tips should help you become extra productive, meet deadlines and ultimately secure the bag.

First, you should have your bath immediately after you wake up. Take it as a normal routine as you would do if you were going to work. For me, it creates a mental balance that stretches through the day. Apart from this, one good reason why you should prepare for work is because sitting in bed would make you really lazy and you would not meet deadlines that way.

Secondly, Deadlines work with outlines. A day without direction yields nothing. If you outline your tasks properly, you can finish up your duties as early as 12pm and have a free day to yourself. For companies like my workplace or brands with weekly tasks, you can choose to start the next day's task if you want to.

Next tip is to Create your deadlines. This is very effective in the history of online businesses and every other kind of business. For some companies, the staff gets the privilege to pick deadlines for duties assigned to them. If you fail to meet the deadlines you then set, later tasks won't require your choice or preference before submission. At this point, you may begin to think your boss is bossy or inconsiderate. If you also choose to submit any later than normal, you are served queries in large scale. To avoid this, if you have a deadline for Thursday and you get the information on Monday, adjust your personal deadline to Wednesday so that you can deliver earlier than expected.

Also, measure your progress. This is specifically for business or brand owners and people who dictate tasks for team members. Because I work online, data burns heavily while I'm at work. Data is the currency of the internet and if you work well with data, you should know that data is a spirit. So, among many other things, measuring progress for me meand taking conscious efforts to maximise data. This is because if you don't take caution, you will spend so much data without doing anything. Or how would you explain spending off 10GB worth of data without closing a major deal or yielding returns? Why do you suddenly remember things you were supposed to do earlier when your data is about to finish? - Just so you know again, Data is a Spirit.

Above all, know that the most useful skill while working from home is Discipline.
Good luck!
